I recently lost all my user stats (as apparently have many users) for Bejeweled 3. The info is stored in \users\<username>\appData.
So I went to my Seagate Toolkit backu program, started drilling down, and was horrified to discover that it isn’t backing up the AppData folder!
Is there some way to fix this, or is it incapable of doing that, or is it hiding somewhere that isn’t obvious?
The appdata folder is included in an image backup but not a file/folder backup, unless you add it manually. This is probably because the appdata folder contains program info, not user data – you don’t save your docs to appdata. Unfortunately, user data is stored there, email in Thunderbird for example, but backup programs don’t tell you this.
The moral: make regular image backups as well as data backups.
