scroll with mouse (98)

Have two computers, both with OL98 on one I can click in the preview pane and then scroll down or up the message with my wheel. One the other, the scroll will only move up and down the message list. It will not scroll in the message pane. I have look everywhere for a way to implement this.
Help.

do they both use the same mouse brands and drivers?

i’m guessing not – one is using intellimouse and the other is logitech.

if both are logitech, one is set to use office 97 scrolling. (control panel > mouse) or one is using ms drivers.

also, the ability to scroll is the message is dependant on message format – plain text behaves differently than html format.
