        I don’t see anything in the other ones.

        Edit: I didn’t see anything in Lenovo or Microsoft but I wouldn’t know where to look…

      Mine has always been like that I assume that when you move your mouse the lock screen comes back someone had once given me a register edit to change it but I don’t remember what it is

      Here’s the registry setting to add a “Console lock display off timeout” setting to the display option under power settings.

      Open regedit and goto

      HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power\PowerSettings\7516b95f-f776-4464-8c53-06167f40cc99\8EC4B3A5-6868-48c2-BE75-4F3044BE88A7

      Change the Attributes value to 2.

      Press WinKey + R, enter powercfg.cpl and hit enter to open the Power Options window.

      Click Change plan settings for the “active” power plan.

      Click Change advanced power settings.

      Expand the Display option and you’ll see a new Console lock display off timeout setting that controls how long it takes for the lock screen to go black.

      AdvancedPowerSettings

      Change the Attributes value back to 1 to remove it.

        Sorry so long getting back to this – busy day!

        @Barry
        – I had not realized this – symptomatic of having been too long “away” from win10 and not having noticed/remembered that! Thanks!

        @n0ads
        –  Thanks for a very detailed simple mod that WORKS! I set it to 5 min and it timed out at 10 min, but I saw the busy indicator by my mouse pointer at just about the 5 min point which was when I thunked down my tea mug on the laptop table. 🙂 So, perfect! Thanks!!!

        I’m sorry to ask such a noob question, the last sentence in this post says:

        “Change the Attributes value back to 1 to remove it.”

        Is that part of the steps or is that the directions if I need/want to go back to the way it was (for example) if this doesn’t solve my problem.

        Thanks!

          add a “Console lock display off timeout”

          Setting the value to 2 adds the lock.
          Setting it to 1 removes the lock.

          cheers, Paul

      solved!

      Hi nOads, thank you so much for the registry hack – this had been driving me crazy! Works perfect.
