Scanned photos – how to review them (Windows ME)

I received a CD with about 50 photos on it. What is the best way to organize these photos to be able to see them without going through the routine of opening one, closing it, and opening another? I have CanoCraft C-P and

The software you mention might have a slide show. If not, you could use the old fashioned method of placing Windows Explorer and Internet Explorer windows side by side and dragging and dropping the JPG files into the browser window.

I am not familiar with the particular graphic software you have but lots have a “Browse” facility – in PaintshopPro it is in the File menu, which allows you to see thumbnails of all of the photos in a particular folder as well as printing out a contact sheet so look out for something like that in your PhotoExp.

Having moved from Windows 95 directly to Windows XP I have no experience of Windows ME but I have been most impressed by the way that XP handles photos. In Windows Explorer there are options that would allow you to view the contents of the CD as Thumbnails or a FilmStrip.

This is the Windows, not Office question. Of course, you can use PowerPoint to create a slideshow.

But the answer to your question is – download and use IrfanView, a free picture viewer. You can preview any individual pictures as well as organize them in slidesows. Its slideshow function is very flexible. Enjoy!
