SBS2003 vs XP (2003)

I have recently set up a new server with Small Business Server 2003 and Office 2003. Databases that worked under XP (also Office 2003) are either generating errors or more frequently, just sitting there.(No dummy that I am, I didnt write down the error and I am not at the machine now) For example, a cascading combo (hope I am using the right terms) allows me to select the category from the first combo but gives me nothing for the linked 2nd combo box. Anyone aware of anything odd/updates needed for SBS 2003 that would cause this

Have you applied Service Pack 1 to Office 2003?

It fixes a whole lot of problems – especially in Access.

Sorry I should have mentioned that all Office and Windows patches have been applied (first thing I do with a new machine)

Where are you seeing the errors – if you run the database on the server, or if you run it on a workstation? We’ve been running SBS2003 for over a year, with numerous databases, both SQL Server and Access backends with no real issues. Also, are your databases split or a single MDB?

The database are running on the server and are not split into FE and BE

Sorry for not responding sooner – I have been swamped with DSL issues and development deadlines. If you are still having issues, I’ll do my best to help. We run your same configuration on a server and have no significant problems with Access – we actually do remote demos of software that way. Splitting them will indeed help considerably. Also moving the FE to the user workstation will help substantially. You might also consider moving the BE to SQL Server if you have that version of SBS2003.
