• Save view (2003)

After transferring my pst file from one machine to another, it seems to have lost its memory!
PROBLEM: On my previous machine, when I opened Outlook, it went to the layout that I am used to: Outlook Today, with the Folder pane open and the folder tree open at all inbox sub-folders.

Now when I open Outlook, it just opens at Outlook Today but the folder tree collapsed at ‘Personal Folders’. Is there some way I can ‘save’ the view I want so that Outlook returns to it on opening?

    Thanks for any help,

    Phil.

      Does the following help?
      – Select Tools | Options…
      – Activate the Other tab.
      – Click Advanced Options…
      – Click Browse…
      – Select your Inbox folder.
      – OK your way out.

        Thanks for your prompt reply.

No, I have tried this. I have attached some screenshots to demonstrate.
Screen 1 is the view I want (and got before moving the file)
Screen 2 is the view that your suggestion gives me
Screen 3 is the view that I get after moving the file.
Surely there is some way of making the last view ‘sticky’?

        Regards,

        Phil.

          Try the following:
          – Activate Personal Folders (Outlook Today)
          – Click ‘Customize Outlook Today’.
          – Tick the check box ‘When starting, go directly to Outlook Today’.
          – Click ‘Save Changes’ to return to Outlook Today.

Sorry, I have no further ideas. In my experience, Outlook ‘remembers’ which parts of the folder tree are expanded. I hope someone else will have a useful suggestion.

Sorry, screen 3 is wrong. It should be this one:
