    What is the easiest and safest way to save a youtube video to my computer?

      I use a free app named YouTube Downloader. You can google it, will show up in search. Download it, install it and run it. It’s pretty straightforward to use.

      YOU TUBE DOWNLOADER worked fine – downloaded the file and then was able to convert it to an MNV file which plays on windows media player. Thanks for the tip.

      I prefer Firefox plus the Download Helper extension. So far it has successfully downloaded every video I pointed it at, including webcasts and other things not on YouTube.

          Good question. Do you know of a specific URL with a Silverlight video I could try it out on? The Download Helper site wasn’t clear as to if that would be supported or not.
