Runtime error (Vista SP1 Home Premium)

Anyone know what my ‘Runtime Error’ could be due to? It comes up every few days with the following message:
Programme:CWindowsExplorer.EXE
‘This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way’
I click on the OK, the desktop goes ‘blank blue’ for a few moments and then all my shortcuts etc are restored on the desktop.
I have looked into the various user maintenance facilities offered with Vista and can’t find out anything … not that I am an expert at ‘looking’.

Have you made any changes recently such as installing new software or hardware? Is your system up-to-date with patches? Have you tried a system restore to a time when all was OK?

Yes, 3 recent software changes which I think are within the time that I have been getting this problem.
1. Java Update
2. Spyware Blaster reinstalled (took it off for a while as Kaspersky said it was in conflict … but the different issue of Blue Screen caused by Kaspersky was not improved when the Spyware was removed. Kaspersky had other problems for the BS which I think are now resolved.
3. HP Help & Support updated software. I wonder??
Yes I am up to date with patches. No I have not done a system restore … perhaps I should try this, haven’t done this before though.
Maybe I should get in touch with HP first in case they are the culprit … I don’t think that the other two are the problem though this is only ‘a feeling’.

Yep, I’d check with HP before taking any other action.
