What I’m asking is how much of a difference would this make?

I only access the internet in my standard user account, so would running ipconfig/flushdns in cmd without clicking run as administrator work the same way?

Or are admin privileges necessary for this process to work?

This is not a pressing question, its just something I’d like to know in advance if it ever comes up

      • Yes flushing the DNS cache will work as a standard user.
      • Most of the time a user will not need to flush the cache as Administrator.
      • Flushing the cache frequently is not harmful to your computer.

Ok, thats good. Just about all the articles I found about flushing the DNS cache said that it had to be done while running as the Administrator.

You can see if the flush worked by running ipconfig /displaydns
      Before and after clearing, obviously.

      cheers, Paul
