    Rummaging though the Microsoft Garage

    By Tracey Capen

The “garage” has a special connotation in technology as the place where brilliant tinkering launched groundbreaking new technology.

That’s both the name and the spirit behind Microsoft’s outlet for small but creative ideas that pop up within the company.

Pointless link. It just takes you to a ‘renew your subscription page’ and mine’s not up until next month.

Apparently if you are within a certain number of days, you go to the renew page. I go to the correct page.

As to the Garage, I have used Mouse-Without-Borders in the past to link a desktop and laptop and give me a 3 monitor setup. It works quite well. That’s the only app I have tried so I cannot comment on the rest. Some seem a bit silly but several are aimed at note taking and organization. Might be worth exploring.

      I quote the original article:

The only app I downloaded and kept was Mouse Without Boarders, a free app (as are all Garage projects)….

What, we need utilities now to keep squatters out of our mice?!! Why not just hang a “No Vacancy” sign on them?

Seriously, though, what has happened to proof-reading, for God’s sake? [It’s not just Windows Secrets, PC Magazine has been horrible for months now, and even the NY Times lets a few zingers pass by anymore.] But Windows Secrets is one of he worst newsletters to which I subscribe when it comes to silly grammatical and spelling errors showing up in nearly every issue.

I mean, “Mouse without BOARDERS,” instead of “BORDERS”? Come on. Please proof read your articles before you publish them.
