I recently solved an issue with the “My places bar” in Office Open dialog, see thread at post 677,617, but one odd issue remains.
If I in Excel, Word et al bring up the Open dialog, I can’t select a folder with right-click and clicking Select. Nothing happens. However, if I try a second time on the same folder, it works; the Open dialog moves to the desired folder. But I don’t have to try Select twice, it works if I, for instance, right-click a folder and select Properties and then after that click Select.
I have seen the exact same result on another Office 2003 PC.
So, could it be some Office update; Windows settings (since the context menu is Windows related and not Office), maybe even related to IE, since it is, well, very integrated in the OS; could it be left traces from older Office installations. It’s odd since I have checked and seen the same on another PC.
So, a question to anyone out there using Office 2003 (SP2); can you right-click a folder in the Open dialog in Office and click Select, and it works?
