Hi…… not long ago it was suggested to me that Revo Uninstaller was worth having as it user friendly and does thorough job. I downloaded it and -though I have only used it once – found it easy to use. Just today I received an email from Ashampoo offering five freebies one of which – Uninstaller 3 – sounds quite good. Comments about which one I should plump for would be appreciated. Regards Dave.

I’m not sure I understand. They are offering you five programmes for free, but you only want to take one?

I think the OP is trying to chose between Ashampoo Uninstaller 3 an Revo Uninstaller.

Ah yes! It’s obviously earlier in the day where you are

I received the same offer but didn’t “bite” for the uninstaller simply because it has “other” stuff included that have nothing to do with removal of software, such as Windows Services, Explorer Addons, and File Backup. Seems a bit bloated to me for a program designed to do software removal.

PS I’m one of Revo’s BIG supporters so I know I’m biased.

Wouldn’t hurt you to try it and see what YOU think, compared to Revo.

I DID try the slideshow program and as soon as I installed it and saw that it creates “movie” files, I plan to remove it. Movie files are HUGE compared to HTML with images.

I once tried Ashampoo Uninstaller because of the quality of their Burning Studio which I have used for years. However, this program was horrid… FOR ME! It removed several critical items from other programs when uninstalling something else. It took me quite awhile to get everything back to the way it was. Needless to say I uninstalled Ashampoo Uninstaller but not with it! hehe

As with any program, YMMV. Some think it is great.

Revo Uninstaller is good, as is Total Uninstaller and Smarty Uninstaller. Of those three, I lean toward Smarty Uninstaller, by a small margin.

As ever, thanks for your various comments gentlemen, I appreciate them very much. To answer Leif’s point, I already use Ashampoo Burning Studio 9 and find it adequate for the basic things I want to do so the Advanced version did not instantly tick any of my boxes – so to speak. Seeing I find the Revo Uninstaller easy to use and the various positive comments about it I think I’ll just continue to use it. However, I have made a note of the two Jeff suggested and keep them under my hat in reserve. Thanks Dave.
