Thanks Susan! Always nice when some nifty new feature is added! The content of the newsletter is always interesting and informative.

Susan, I can’t seem to find the new “RESOLVED” feature. I pulled up the post that Alec responded to answering my question. Where do I find the resolved feature?

      Peace, CAS

P.S. I have disabled Google scripts on your site as well as all others.

      Dear Susan,

I don’t get the dropdown with the RESOLVED option.
Is there perhaps an age limit to the original post?

Susan, I returned to my original post, as you suggested, but there was no option available for me to edit it. Now what?

        Peace, CAS

        • #2498096

no option available for me to edit it

          Susan also said:

The author can also start a new post in the thread, perhaps to thank the person finding the solution or to add additional information, and can also set RESOLVED there.

On a Topic (not Newsletter/Homepage/Knowledge Base Toipcs) when you edit the Topic, the pulldown is above the Entry Box.

      [humor warning]

You KNOW you’ve really MADE IT when the Congress of the United States has RESOLVED your computer problems:

The resolving clause of all joint resolutions shall be in the following form:

“Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled.”

        another funny now follows:

I was pretty active on the User Form at tomshardware dot com when I posted a simple and unbiased question one day:

Is “VISTA” an acronym for Virtual Instant Surveillance Tactical Application?

Just that question, mind you;  nothing else.

I was IMMEDIATELY BANNED FOR LIFE from that User Form.

So, I went back in with a pen name, and thereafter was awarded “BEST SOLUTION” thirty-three (33) times in a row.

That “RESOLVED” feature is truly WONDERFUL!

On a Topic (not Newsletter/Homepage/Knowledge Base Toipcs) when you – edit the Topic – the pulldown is above the Entry Box.

I read CAS’s point to be that Edit has a short life and then Disappears. So 5 hours later or the next day you can’t access Edit to mark Resolved. What are we misunderstanding?

Some of us don’t know what BBCodes are. We’re not all programmers.

Forums are designed to be helpful- not intimidating.

Some of us don’t know what BBCodes are.

You don’t need to know the actual BB Codes (Bulletin Board Codes).
If you choose the [Visual] formatting bar for the input window, the buttons [B], [I], etcetera insert the codes on the selected text for you.

Hover the mouse-pointer (arrow, index finger, whatever) over the buttons and they’ll show what they do.

We’ve added a much-requested enhancement to the forums.

Please allow me to urgently suggest the additional … well, addition of a [U] button (Underline) and an [S] button (Strike-through) for the input window.

While there is no underline button, there is a strike-thru button as well as several other options.

You just need to click the “Toolbar Toggle” button to see them.

Ctrl + u works for underline though (from the Visual tab only), as indicated by the Keyboard Shortcuts help (?) at the end of that extra toolbar.

      What are we misunderstanding?

I suggest you read this post:

Hopefully Susan/PKC can confirm/clarify that the Resolved Insertion via Edit IS ONLY about the brief hour or so that EDIT exists. Once it disappears, a new post must be used to say Thanks and/or Resolved – which isn’t seen nearly as easily as the Resolved Label. I wonder how many solutions are posted & then seen and answered by the thread author (to invoke Resolved) within that hour.

      Okay …

Then why do I get this?

Because del is not Ctrl + u?
