resize attachements (Office 2002 Pro SP3)

I often receive emails with large JPG files as the attachment. To archive my incoming emails more efficiently, is there a way to re-size these attached large picture files to smaller size and stay as the attachments in the emails?

I don’t know about Office 2002 (XP?), but in Office 2003 you can open the attachment with MS Picture Manager and resize it and save the changes. Does the Office 2002 default picture viewer have a resizing option?

I did use the same method as yours to resize the pictures before. It did not work. After reviewing your suggestion, I tried it again. It worked!

I found I needed to save the email to have the resize to be effective. It is the only trick in this issue.
