AskWoody LoungerJuly 24, 2017 at 7:57 am #126132Its hard to gauge how big the problems are with Surface devices. But it appears you either get a really trouble free device or its riddled with issues and the recommendation then is to ask for a replacement. I just think the thin design creates a somewhat higher failure rate and assembly mistakes then with a more traditional device. My experience with the first Surface was enough to make me swear off ever buying another Microsoft product.

AskWoody LoungerJuly 24, 2017 at 9:08 pm #126267Its hard to believe in this modern day & age that the old mantra that used to apply to cars could be tranferrable to electronics i.e. “Monday Morning and a Friday afternoon car” Seems wherever in the PRC these things are now being made could be a good deal of “Tsingtao” being consumed lol

GuestJuly 26, 2017 at 10:39 am #126466We tried 10 – 15 Surface 3 Pro devices in the enterprise 2 years ago, and ran into the same problem. The firmware and drivers weren’t done when the devices shipped. It did get better, but not until everybody had given up on the Surface. Maybe Microsoft should spend less time planting articles about how the next Surface will be the best computer ever and focus on having the product ready to use when it ships.
