Report Insert Line Every X Records (XP)

Is there a way to insert a blank line (in a report) every 5 records? One that a real newbie, non-programmer could actually do? I migrated from Paradox and there was an option for reports to do just that, so no programming necessary.

I’m sorry, this requires a little bit of programming in Access. It is not very difficult, though. There is a Microsoft Knowledge Base article that gives detailed instructions: ACC2000: How to Print a Blank Line Every Nth Line in a Report (although the title mentions Access 2000, it works exactly the same for Access 2002/XP.) You can also download a useful database with lots of sample reports from a link in this article.

Hey, Hans! I actually did it! Enough hand-holding even for me (after I figured out where the Object box was) and it worked! Programming is lots different than when I was working with Apple (//e) Pascal.

And the downloaded sample reports seem to have tons of info I can use. What a resource.

Thanks, Hans. I don’t mind tackling programming if my hand is being held. Coming up with code on own doesn’t usually work. This looks like I should be to figure out how to do it. I’ll have to study the KB article and sample db.
