• Report Detail Section Length

I am trying to create about a six-page report, but finding that Access is not allowing me to make the detail section more than 22″. I have tried pulling the bottom of the section down as well as typing in a new value in Page Setup/Columns. When I type in a number higher than 22″ I get a message that says, “The number you entered is invalid.”

Is there a way to increase the detail section size?

    Thanks,
    Eric

That’s correct. Certainly for Access’97 the maximum section height is 22″. For more details lookup Microsoft Access Specifications in Help.

Thanks for the reply, Brian. I wish there was a way around this. Well, I guess we didn’t really need more than 64k either.

I checked out the specifications. It says that total height of all sections, including headers and footers, is 200 inches. If the Report, and Page headers and footers are each 22″ and the detail section is 22″, that makes a grand total of 110″. Where do they get the other 90″? Is there a way to add an additional detail section or two?

          Thanks,
          Eric

You only have one detail section, but you can have several group headers and footers.

The usual way to get around this is with subreports.
