This is a strange question, but if anyone knows the answer someone on this lounge will! I have one user who is getting e-mails that contain lengthy reply threads. She has Outlook 2007, but we don’t know what e-mail the other people are using. She is being frustrated because when the reply comes back to her all previous parts of the thread have been truncated only after a sentence or two an ellipse (…) is added to indicate the truncation. This is bugging the user. So the question–do you know any program or automatic setting in Outlook or any other e-mail program that turns trucation on? Thanks,

I don’t think it’s an Outlook setting, but I’m not on a PC with Outlook 2007 to plumb its view options.

Are there any hints based on the sender’s email? E.g., from a gmail.com address? I think of Gmail because I think it has the most novel conversation view, but perhaps other webmail clients similarly compress discussions.

Thanks much for writing. The senders may have been using gmail, but we can’t be sure. We just assured the user that the ellipses and truncation did not originate from her Outlook.
