Although I have set the reply and forwarding format of plain text to indent the original with > in many cases the reply or forward has no indent of any kind, the original email text is just reproduced as was.

Is there a fix for this?

the > only works on plain text, html has a blue line.

if it is plain text then it could be because of the charset used. express replies in the same charset and encoding that the sender used and the results may vary on some of the less usal choices.

        Thanks Mary smile

It is plain text emails I am referring to (HTML is fine) and it only just started happening since I upgraded to 5.5 and it only happens with some emails.

The email text in the messages that do not indent with > appears as Arial 12 point and I have “Reply using the same format” ticked.

Can I assume from your reply that there is no fix for this that you are aware of?
