Recently I was having trouble with my pc (unimportant what it was, crashing). I did not have time to mess with it at home (or was too lazy, I forget) so I took it to the local pc fix place. I had second thoughts right off, but I let it slide. Anyway, he decded to reinstall XP. Great, problem is that he reinstalled with one of the ‘bad’ registrations. Now when I connect to microsoft.com they will not let me check for updates.

How do I reimprint my very valid registration code?

Report the creep to Microsoft and they will put him out of business. This would be a service to the community !!

As to your situation, take a look here for a step-by-step how to. HTH

I tried working with MS support through e-mail and found them to be a total waste. I will report this guy to MS though. It is a good thought.
