Removing wireless connections

I have just set up two PCs for a friend. The desktop had a wireless adapter inserted temporarily and the laptop has wireless built in. I have now finished setting up both PCs (eg downloading latest Windows updates etc). The machines are going to a home which will use dial-up. How do I delete the existing wireless connections?

I’m using Windows XP Home on both PCs. The attached screenshot shows that the wireless connection cannot be deleted even though it is disabled.

Before you ask, there is no third party firewall software (yet) on the PC and the XP firewall is disabled.

I have a parallel situation. My computer came with a 1394 FireWire networking connection which I don’t need. It also could not be deleted. However, it can be “uninstalled” through a control panel:

Start>Settings>Control Panel>System>Hardware tab>Device Manager

Under Network adapters, right-click and uninstall the wireless connection. Worked for me.

Many thanks jscher. I tested it on my own laptop and it works. I will do it on the subject PCs tomorrow because I have packed up the kit ready for delivery in the morning.
