In every folder when file>new is selected it seems every program is listed in the drop down menu. The list is getting long and I can live without the majority of the 24 entries from Briefcase to Winzip. Does anyone know where in the Registry to edit this list? Thanks in advance. thinks

Run TweakUI, (you do have it don’t you?), and select the NEW tab. On this tab deselect the items you do NOT what listed in the “new” listing. I know this will remove the items when you use the “Right Click” and select new, which appears to be the same listing I get when selecting a folder in Windows Explorer and selection on the menu “File, New”

If you do NOT have TweakUI you can get it here. This version will work with Windows 98 Fe, Se, ME; NT4, Windows 2000.

Thanks Dave. I guess it was too simple to think to use TweakUI. I got in the habit of making all my changes manualy. I guess you could say I have become a ‘Registry Explorer’ of sorts. bingo
After a bit of sleep I realized that the reg-cleaner (made by Jouni Vuorio) I use has a tab section devoted to taking care of my problem. Thanks again for your suggestion cheers
