    I’ve tried a few things from the net, but to no avail.  Anybody know how to remove these?

      If you have the Pro version maybe using gpedit.msc will do it for you  (On Win10 22H2) –

      clock

        Eric, I just wen to follow the instructions, and there is no “Remove Clock…” choice to modify that I see on WIn 11, ver 23H2

      Thank you so much, Eric!  Works on “11” as well.  Now if only there was a way to export gpedit settings like one can export registry entries!

      You can backup the policy settings. See How to Backup or Restore Group Policy settings in Windows 11/10 (thewindowsclub.com) for more information.

      GPedit settings work by changing specific registry entries so, if you know which registry entry it changes, you can export it.

      Remove Clock from the system notification area modifies the following registry entry.

      HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer
      "HideClock"=dword:########

      00000000 = show clock
      00000001 = hide clock

      BTW, you can find exactly which registry entry any specific Group Policy rule modifies by opening the appropriate C:\Windows\PolicyDefinitions\??.admx file in Notepad and looking at the value assigned to the key=” variable for “that particular policy“.

      If the policy is part of the Computer Configuration tree in Group Policy, you’ll need to add HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ to that value, if it’s part of the User Configuration tree in Group Policy, you’ll need to add HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ to that value.

      Joe/Eric:

      I admit defeat.  I tried both approaches, and cannot get either to result in “no clock.”  Not that big a deal I suppose, except that it bugs me that I can’t make it work.

      Oh well, thanks anyway.

      *** This is on Windows 7 ***

      Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Notification Area Icons
      bottom left corner: Turn system icons on or off
      top item listed is Clock.
      Other selections: Volume, Network, Power, Action Center

      I have been told on more than on occasion that I should 1) slow down, and 2) take better notes.  Neither of which am I great at.  No matter…

      Among a plethora of things I was/am trying to squeeze out of Win-11, one of the main ones, as we know, was/is removal of the taskbar clock.  The soluition was right in front of me.

      https://tinyl.io/ALHz  Ultimate Windows Tweaker 4.8.

      I’ve had this gem around forever, but have never it seems quite found everything it can do.

      Removal of the system tray clock, along with a myriad of additional tweaks, is right there in the “check/uncheck the box.”

      Sorry to all I didn’t find this sooner.  Hope others enjoy UWT as much as I do!

        Funny thing:  The way of turning off the clock was/is available in v4.8 of Ultimate Windows Tweaker, but not, strangely in the newest 5.1 that I can see.

      Here’s the links that list all the various tweaks available in UWT.

      List of Tweaks available in Ultimate Windows Tweaker 4 for Windows 10

      List of Tweaks available in Ultimate Windows Tweaker 5 for Windows 11

      For UWT 5.1, the “Remove Clock From Notification Area” option is under Customization on the Taskbar tab.
