I’m working on a work project where I needed to sideload an APK onto an Android TV device (Sling Air TV). I need to remove and re-sideload the APK to resolve an issue with the APK code.

I haven’t been able to figure out how to remove the old sideloaded APK.

I managed to use a file explorer to sideload the original APK from my Google Drive, and a sideloader app launcher to launch the sideloaded app, but I can’t figure out how to remove the sideloaded app so I can reinstall the fresh code.

    Thanks!

Update on this: I found an App Manager app that removed the app.

I tried reinstalling the other version of the code, and there are still issues with it, so now the test I need to run is run our web version instead.

I’m having issues finding a solid web browser that runs on Android TV that works OK with a remote control, and I need to be able to go directly to and bookmark the URL of the web app.

Once I am able to access the web app URL on the web browser on the Android TV, it’ll basically run in a kiosk mode and cycle the slides automatically, so that’s what I’m looking for now to complete this test.

Found one that works: Puffin TV.

It even allowed me to push the link from my phone to my TV (even my iPhone!) without having to type in the horrendously long URL.
