I have configured Remote Desktop over a network of 2 computers, I can get the desktop of both systems to display on the others monitor. However when I connect I get a toolbar at the top of the screen with a PIN at the left hand end, when I click this pin it rotates from being pinned to being horizontal. What is the pin called and what is its function?

Second question, why when I connect either way does the account log off on the Host? Is there any way to prevent this?

When remote desktop is used in full-screen mode, you’ll see a tab across the top of the screen. Look at the push pin icon on the left; if it looks pushed in, the tab will remain visible. If not, the tab will recede; to get it back, move your cursor to the top of the screen. To toggle between these modes, click on the push pin.

With the words to search on that are not common I found a microsoft kb that gave the explanation exactly as per your reply, http://support.microsoft.com/kb/300698%5B/url%5D
I think I used every possible word I could think of but not “PushPin”. I guess had I been a little switched on I would have realized that it enabled the autohide feature.

The second part of my question, I have searched “concurrent users” and found it is not native to XP-PRO SP2 there is a hack, is it recommended? General opinion is that it violates the EULA, I managed a design office not a legal firm.

Remote desktop will always log off the current user on the machine being connected to. There isn’t a Microsoft approved method of creating multiple sessions.

I suppose any information in this article can be taken as legitimately as you’d like.
