I am aware that after doing a Windows search I can save that search as an .FND file. My question now is can I change the default folder that the .FND file gets stored in or can I get it to remember where it last saved a search? I was doing multiple searches and saving them and for each and every search it presents the default folder for saving the search. I would rather it remember where I last saved a search and present that as the folder. But it doesn’t. Anyone know if there is a registry setting or some other setting whereby this can be changed?

Not the answer you were looking for maybe, but what I usually do in these circumstances is place a shortcut to the folder I want to use in the default location.

        Nice one, Stuart clever

I do the same for applications that insist on defaulting to their preferred folder for each new save. It may not be eactly elegant, but works wonders and minimises the pain.

I fear that you’ll have to use something like Stuart’s workaround, for as far as I can tell there is no way to change the default folder for saved searches or to make Windows remember where you last saved a search.
