    Hi,

    Looking for the regkey setting that controls windows ‘look’ – would like to have constant ‘XPstyle’.

    Equivalent when accesing it manually is: Desktop -> Properties -> Appearance -> Windows and buttons: ‘Windows XP style’.

    Would anyone know where I find this key??

    THX

      It’s the ThemeActive value in the HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionThemeManager key.

      1 = Windows XP
      0 = Windows Classic

        Thanks worked perfect.

        Small catch there as some keys seem to dis- and reappear, when you swap between the states of classic and XPstyle.

          In Windows Classic style, values such as ColorName are meaningless, so they are deleted when you switch to Windows Classic style and recreated when you switch to Windows XP style.
