when I am on my Mac (OS 10.2.5) and I receive a word document with figures as an email attachment from a pc, some or all of the figures may have a big red x across the frame. By figures, I mean graphs or drawings imported directly into the word document from another software program, usually statistical (eg, Sigmaplot).
I have tried to get help from Microsoft, Apple, the makers of the graphics software, the DSL provider–without success. For Sigmaplot, the suggestion was that the author of the figure should ‘save as’ jpg or another graphic format before the figure was imported into the doc. I don’t always have the option of contacting the third party, however, and it doesn’t work consistently anyway.
The translation programs (MacLink, etc.) don’t work. The windows emulators are too expensive to even try because i would need a different one for every version of windows out there.
I can import any free standing graphic, picture, etc. just fine. This problem is Word specific.
Does anyone have any idea what is going on and how to solve this?
thanks
