I do not want to see this annoying thing.  I have only 1 Microsoft Account, and I don’t keep it signed in unless I absolutely have to.  Even then, I immediately sign back out the moment I can.

I have researched the best I can on the web, but the only fixes I find don’t work.

Anyone figured out a way to get rid of it?

    Thanks in advance!

How comfy are you with registry keys?

      [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Edge]
      or
      [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Edge]
      “BrowserSignin” = dword:00000000

      the red dot disappears…

Not the red dot.  The “SIGN IN” bubble as shown in the screen capture.

I attached the picture, but don’t see it here.  ::sigh::

It is a red circle with “SIGN IN”.  It is between the download arrow and the three dots, just below the X to close the window.

I call it the red dot.  It disables the sign in.

Thanks for the registry modification, only took me a couple of minutes to implement, and it works just fine, no more red dot (I didn’t have the “Sign in” icon circled in red, only the icon with the red dot).

Something told me that there was probably a Group Policy setting (for those running the Pro version of Windows 10 or 11) that corresponded to your registry modification, and indeed there is.

But, it asks you to set two different policies to achieve and maintain the same effect so I found it easier overall just to set the registry entry and be done with it.
