Patch reliability is unclear. Unless you have an immediate, pressing need to install a specific patch, don't do it. |
I have purchased a program from USA that will only come down as a Real Player streamed whatsit.
As I only have a slow modem – (not broadband as yet!) I would like to save the files to PC so that I can hear them at my leisure. As yet I can’t find any way in RP that will let me save to file.
Can anybody shed some light ? ?
I was looking at the same thing a bit recently. Usually RP streams the files from the internet with max download rate. It saves them as tmps in your temporary folder. If you have a way of noticing when they are done downloading you can copy them from there.
The problem just begins there though: It seems like they are not really a known file type RealPlayer will not open them as such. I have not found a way to get around that yet

Doesn’t RP save the temp file with a .ram extension? I’ve saved a couple of those & can double click them to play.
Never mind. I just tried it & you have to access the Internet to play it. So it must just be a shortcut.
