Really old dates

I have a time series that begins before 1900. I need to use some of the date functions and arithmetic. Has anyone already come up with a solution for this? If not, I’ll have to find a work around.

Excel itself can’t handle dates before 1900. You can only store them as text.

John Walkenbach has created a free add-in that lets you manipulate dates before 1900 in Excel. See Extended Date Functions.
