Hello — I been reading my aol mail via gmail for years — gmail  with its pop3  access and a “app password”  worked  great untill it stopped working —- not sure if its OAuth2 or something else. I given up on pop3 —  “Gmailify” seemed to work for a time then stopped too

So, simply, does anyone know if there is and how to use  the “auto forward”  feature of aol mail if it exists?  Thanks

      Stopped working how?

Gmail have been tightening their security recently, which has prevented many clients connecting until users changed the security settings.

      cheers, Paul

thanks for your reply — the interface to have gmail read another email account only support pop3 and its not clear to me what authorizing protocol is  is using to do that —  it keep  failing to connect which lead me to believe that gmail is not using the correct protocol  athere is no option to specify it

Have you tried deleting the Yahoo account in Gmail and setting it up again?

      cheers, Paul

it is an aol email address — yes,  I lost count on how many times  deleted and add the aol account  – and yes, I am using an “app password” for the aol account access

I checked on Gmail and AOL mail help. AOL has this at the top:  https://help.aol.com/products/new-aol-mail  Just in case the link doesn’t work, here is what it says:

“We are aware some users are having issues accessing their AOL Mail using third-party mail clients. Removing and re-entering your AOL Mail password or app password in the email client should solve this. Read our help article for more information and steps. You may also access AOL Mail on the web at mail.aol.com or using the AOL app for iOS or Android.”

      Hope this helps!
