I have an older HP Pavilion G6 Notebook AMD Athlon II P360 dual core that now is getting random black screens after updating to build 16299.98 when we were at MS-Defcon 3

It was working OK prior to the update (I know let sleeping dogs lie).

Suggestion: Check if there is a graphics driver update on HP’s or the mfg of the graphics card’s website. Compare to the version in device manager.

Well, I guess it’s about time I start to thinking about getting a new computer. There are no newer graphics drivers – the one installed is from 2015 – so I do not think the problem is because of the Windows 10 update that I installed. There are other things going on with the machine that actually point to memory and/or mother board malfunctions. Thanks again for the suggestion of checking the drivers – in delving into the inner workings I found a lot of indications that it is the hardware that is beginning to fail, not the software.
