A long story, I had a new computer built about 9 months ago which has proved to be a lemon, can’t explain why, simply don’t know. The latest disaster is that I had a new Lian-Li Frame installed. No disk was even inserted in the rack. A few days later I noticed on POST that the RAID 1 was showing as degraded. The RAID is integrated with the ASUS M2N32-SLI deluxe motherboard. I was using the NVidia Mediashield nForce 590 chipset utility version rather than the also included Silicon Image.
I immediately used Acronis 10 and created an image of the disk.
Within a few days both RAID disks were showing as degraded.
We have been able to recover the image and from a single disk the system boots perfectly.
Now to create the RAID 1 configuration is proving impossible. I decided against the integrated offerings, I purchased an Adaptec PCIe RAID card but how do we create the RAID from the good image we have, I would have thought that we boot off the good disk and simply select ®ebuild. Sorry to be a little vague about the Adaptec part the whole system is in the repair shop, and I have not seen a screen shot of anything.

Situation solved, the image from True Image was restored to a clean HDD, the system then booted cleanly off this disk. A repair install of XP-PRO-SP2 was carried out to pick up the Adaptec drivers, on the reboot the second disk was put in place and the Adaptec Utility was used to rebuild the RAID 1.
Whilst looking for a solution the following software was found, it is now safely in the toolbox but was not used.
I will also place a POST in “Software Finds And Wants”
