We have recently moved from O97 to O2000. In O97 I could set the type face, colour, etc for my replies so that it contrasted the quoted text. If the mail went out of the office the standard “>” quotes were added. (Or did Exchange do this)?

There doesn’t appear to be that option in O2000. I can see how to set it up so that I get colured text AND “>” quotes but can I get it to do coloured text OR “>” quotes (depending on destination)?

the quote character is added by outlook and the message format matters – i thought in OL97 that you needed to use an addin. it’s also likely the exchange server was dumping the “colored text” (RTF format) to internet addresses and only sending plain text, since only outlook can read RTF.

what format are you using for outgoing messages? RTF or HTML?

        Hi Mary
What format for outgoing? It appears to be whatever the sender has formatted (text, rich text, HTML).

I have done a bit more expermentation with the matrix of the three formats and the two destinations (internal and external) using the “Prefix each line…” with “>” option and coloured reply font format settings.

With HTML ; internally the quoted material has a vertical red line and the included text coloured. External mail depends upon the email client (PocketOutlook
