How do you put a quotation mark in a custom cell format? I want to indicate inches (“) following a number and still be able to use the number in formulas.

There may be a better answer, but I use two single quotes as they appear as a double when using non-monospaced fonts.

Prefix the quote ” with a backslash , this tells Excel to treat the quote as a literal character. For example, to display a number as inches without decimal places:

      0″

      Or with 1 decimal place:

      0.0″
