    I know…Windows 11 is a beta build.  But…

Is there  any way to get the Quick Launch back?  I cannot seem to find how to add it or create it.

Right now you can’t pin items such as a new folder to the taskbar. That functionality may be added to a future build.

Remember, it is beta software. New features, new functionality, and changed functionality are being added almost every week. You’ll need to read the release notes for each version.

The one thing that seems to be missed by many is the quick launch bar — hoping that comes back quickly.

I luckily made a backup just before “upgrading” to “11.”  Glad I did that, cuz the very next thing I did was restore “10” from the backup!

I’ll take another look in a couple weeks.

You know if your hardware is sufficient it is easy to use a VM to test Windows 11.

If I run Win 11 in a VM will I be able to keep the VM updated to the “latest?

Also Joe, if I install W-10 on a VM, so that I can then upgrade that CVM to 11, will I need a second product key for the VM in order to have it registered?

You will be able to keep the Win11 VM updated. Just start the VM, connect to it. As long as a network is available Windows Update will run on the boot of the system. You can always run it yourself too.

You do need a license for the guest OS in the VM. I happened to have an old Win10 license available when I created the VM.

From what I’ve read you can still use a Win7 key to validate. YMMV

Joe, I installed VMware 16, and opened a W10 Pro VM.  When I tried to get the Insider build of W11 it said my machine (my VM) didn’t meet the minimum requirements.

Is there a way around this?
