I have a strange problem. On my XP Pro machine running Office XP, suddenly some of the punctuation is reversed. Most notably , and “(comma and quotation). Don’t have a clue as to what happened or how to fix the problem. Any ideas appreciated. This is totally new to me. Thanks a lot

Have you tried quitting and restarting Word? Or if that doesn’t help, restarting your PC? Does the problem persist?

Is this a direction of the character thing or have the characters swapped positions? I haven’t seen a comma change direction before.

If it is the direction – do a global search and replace for the character and replace it with itself – this usually works for ‘ and ” (single-quote and double-quote characters).
