Is there a limit to how many records can populate a drop-down combo box? I have a database with about 130,000 records that have a 7-digit numeric primary key and the lookup drop down box only goes to about 90 some thousand records. It won’t go to the bottom in the drop down box. If you type in the full number it will pull that number up on the form, but with the dropdown box dropped down–it just won’t go there.

Not sure if you can do something with this, but it deals with combo’s and many thousands of records.

See ACC2000: Combo Boxes Limited to 65536 (64 KB) Rows. A combo box with 130,000 item would be madness anyway.

A better approach is to use cascading combo boxes. Let the user select a category in the first one, a subcategory in the second one, etc.

The max is large, but not that large. Combobox performance with over 100 rows is very poor anyhow, and pity the poor user who has to find anything in it.
