Hi all,

I store my contacts information in Outlook at home. I export the whole contacts folder + subfolders to a new PST file on a regular basis and send this PST to a mail address where I “host” stuff so I can grab it later when a need arises.

The problem is, we’re using Lotus Notes at work and there seems to be no way I can read the PST with it. I know I can export my contacts info to a TXT or an XLS file at home, but I’d like not to go all that way.

Question is: do you know if there is an application that can read a PST file (contacts alone will do)? Outlook Express can do the task but it requires that Outlook be installed in the machine. The same thing happens with similar applications I’ve tried.

Exporting your contacts to a .txt, .csv or .xls file is probably a lot less work than trying to get an application that can read .pst files installed at work (such an application exists: it’s called Outlook)

(There are other applications that can read .pst files, but they require Outlook to be installed…)

Thanks for your quick (as usual) response.

I pretty much suspected what the answer was going to be. I had read in a forum that other applications require the Outlook API to access PSTs, but since I wasn’t completely sure about the wording I used my own simple words .

About exporting contacts, one thing that discourages me is the fact that I have about 35 folders in total (folders + subfolders) and they can’t be exported all at the same time unless I export to a PST file.

Playing around with Notes found it might import VCARD files (.VCF). I couldn’t find a way to export to VCF from Outlook 2000, and in case it could be done the question regarding whether the whole 35 folders can be exported at once remains. Still it’s my only hope at the moment!
