How do I bring my pst file of Outlook 2000 into Windows 2000, Office 2000. I have done a search for the pst file logged in as the administrator and have had no luck. Where do I paste the pst file I copied from the old system so it will only show up in my profile.

Patch reliability is unclear. Unless you have an immediate, pressing need to install a specific patch, don't do it. |

AskWoody_MVPAugust 13, 2001 at 8:42 pm #537186Have you installed, Outlook under Windows 2000?
Have you opened Outlook and set it up using your user account, NOT, the admin account?
If so, go to Users settings and documents you will find all kinds of things under you user name.Using Windows 2000 and XP when it is released, one needs to do a LOT tinking and even some reading.
Once you locate the PST file under your user name, you can relace it with the one you have saved to floppy disk.

AskWoody PlusAugust 14, 2001 at 2:21 pm #537314Thanks, have the contacts in now, however, I can add and delete contacts no problems. However, when I go to try and send a new message, i get the error message of when I click on TO:
“The address list cannot be displayed. The contacts folder associated with this address list could not be opened. It may have been moved or deleted or you do not have permissions ( login as admin). For information on how to remove from the Outlook address book, see Microsoft Outlook Help. -

AskWoody LoungerAugust 15, 2001 at 7:48 pm #537564Did you try simply export all your personal files? Go to File | Import and Export | Export to a file | Personal folder (.pst) and from dialog box choose all folders you want to export, name and locaton of PST file you want expotrt to, etc. On another computer (or logon) choose File | Import and export | Import from file, etc.

AskWoody LoungerAugust 14, 2001 at 4:37 am #537244Howard is correct. You will need to show the hidden files to find the folder with the .pst file in it. Also while you can see everything you will also find a TEMP file that is hidden in the Local Settings folder. This TEMP folder can aquire a lot of junk and should be emptied every so often.
