Proxy Desktop: Explorer.EXE – Applicaton Error (Home SR1)

This error popped up a while ago while closing an explorer window. The explorer window had gone before the msg appeared. I thought the desktop would probably go bye byes when I clicked OK, so shut down other apps first. When I clicked OK, the msg just disappeared and everything seemed OK. I started a few non-critical apps and did a little browsing thru folders and the net without obvious problems. Then I rebooted, before getting back to more serious stuff. Haven’t had any recurrences, so far.

Any clues? I had a hunt on Google on MSKB but didn’t see anything useful.

Thanks, I hadn’t seen that one. Unfortunately as useful as anything else I found. Still no recurrences though, so I’ll just keep my pending other ideas.

Had another hunt, thanks to 255298. This seems to be a generic error when an app tries to read/write to memory outside it’s sandbox. The most useful(?) thing I found was re: several strange problems today…. It gives a few hints on how to debug such errors and might be handy for anyone who has regular ones. Me? I’ll just pretend it didn’t happen and hope that’s it was just “one of those things” since it hasn’t recurred.
