Using Visio 2000 Professional, Windows NT. I’ve read up on how to protect the various objects and file options but it doesn’t seem to work. We are publishing to an intranet and the drawings need to be protected. Can anyone tell me how to protect them and what it is I’m doing wrong? Anyone want to make a recommendation for a good Visio reference book and any sites other the MS that are rich with Visio tips, techniques etc. I appreciate the help.

Try using the drawing explorer (view|windows|drawing explorer), select the drawing and right click. This will bring up another menu with “Protect document” which will allow you to assign a password to protect all items selected on that dialog.

        Thanks Pat …
I have since sort of found this and will be studying it more in the next couple of days as I am teaching it on Wednesday. I appreciate your response.

        Thanks, Chris
