I just bought a notebook running 64-bit Windows and need some help deciding what is a good security plan. My old notebook was running Zone Alarm, AVG Free, and Spy Sweeper as is my desktop. There isn’t a 64-bit ZA (yet) and when I tried to install AVG Free it said to uninstall Windows Live One Care (free trial) to prevent conflicts. I haven’t tried Spy Sweeper yet. The notebook connects to the network which is protected by a router firewall. Right now I have Windows Firewall turned on. I have not activated Live One Care yet since I am trying to find out if it is any good. Does anyone have experience with Live One? And do I need a firewall on the notebook?

    Thanks.

I have seen a couple of people elsewhere post that they have no problems with One Care. I don’t have any direct experience with it.

I’ve been running with the Windows firewall on two different PCs. I think it is just fine for anyone who takes reasonable care in their surfing and downloading as long as you also have good a/v and anti-spyware programs.
