I’ve seen some similar postings to the issues I’m having. However, none of them have the answer to my situation. I’m creating a project file..and I want to take into account 2shifts, and multiple mechanics (working the same task). How do I manipulate my resources to give me these results? Our shifts are from 6am-4:30pm & 4:30pm-3am (m-th) & friday is 6am-6pm. I have set up my calendar to show working times from 12am-3am and 6am-12am–so that it captures the overlap. However, I can’t figure out how to show that 2mechs will be working task 1 from 6am-4:30, and the night shift guy will continue that task from 4:30pm until it’s complete. Basically, our mechanics (whether day or night) work 10hrs a day. So, I would have 20hrs during the day, and 10hrs at night. Right now–I have it set up so that a 2person day shift & one person night shift = a resource of 150%…..that gives me 30hrs a day. Does anyone know of anyother ways to get my resources in line with our schedule? Thank you!

Do you have your mechanics setup as individual resources or just as a mechanics group resource? If they are setup as individuals and each assigned to the tasks I.e John Doe and John Smith assigned to Task 1 as a ten hour shift that would be 100% for each individually, then John Green assigned to task 1 until the end of the day that would be 100% for that resource. You might have to make the assignments in the resource usage view to accurately assign the task work to the correct resources. Are you using a 10 hour work day for all resources? If so you would want to go to Tools Options and set hours per day to 10. Hours per week would remain the same.
