Every few days my pc seems to update all my software programmes under an item called ‘Application Configuration change’ which can be seen listed under Computer Management/Reliability Monitor. However the pc (HP Laptop dv6525ea/Vista SP2) otherwise seems to be functioning OK.

What I get in the Event description is :
Windows Installer reconfigured the product (Product name etc …) and it seems to be all my installed programmes.

I have searched the net and find some references to this problem under Event 1035 so its ‘not just me’. But I can’t find any solutions listed.
Any experts/ other users with these problems who can offer suggestions please?

NO TAKERS! BUT I NOW HAVE SOLVED THE ISSUE. ITS A PROBLEM IN MY ‘HP UPDATE’ SOFTWARE YET TO FIX.
(JUST FOR INFO TO OTHER HP SOFTWARE USERS … in case any similar problem)

Yes thats HP update program which has been a horror story on its own!
But the rewriting is not done by windows installer it is Windows Defender that is the real offender here!
But firts updated the HP updater program to the latest version.
Than disable or at least startup at manual Windows Defender!
Try again, it worked for me
There are actually 3 programs in Vista, all from Microsoft, that are fighting to take control of your system.
The UAC, Windows Defender and Vista it self!
You cannot remove Vista, but you can control the other two, but be carefull, have a thirt party protection!
