I have a Galaxy A03s. My laptop has Win 10 Version 22H2.
I use Quick Share from Google to transfer photos from the phone to the laptop. My problem is that QS sometimes connects to the laptop, and sometimes it doesn’t. It seems to be quite random.
Also, I originally used QS with a Win 11 desktop. Although I no longer have that desktop, whenever I try to use QS, an icon which links to the desktop always appears. I have no idea whether that’s part of the problem that I have connecting to the laptop. Regardless, I’d like to delete the link to the desktop, but I can’t find anything in the settings to do that.
When I try to transfer photos, I select them and then tap “share.” The places where I can then send them consists of a row of icons immediately above the row of favorite apps toward the bottom of the screen. As mentioned, an icon for the desktop always appears there. An icon for the laptop sometimes appears, sometimes it doesn’t. If it does, I tap it and the transfer works. When it doesn’t appear there, I can go to the next line, for favorite apps. When I’m using Quick Share, an icon for it appears there. When I tap that icon, a new screen with several things appears, and a link to the laptop may or may not be there. When its there, I can tap it and complete the transfer. When it’s not there, I’m out of options, and have to transfer the photos via cable.
(I’d take screenshots to remove any potential ambiguity regarding my descriptions, but I can’t get that to work either. Either that’s another malfunction, or my ability to follow instructions is even more suspect than I’d like. I’ll probably post something in a different thread once either the current topic is resolved or all hope is lost regarding it.)
I take photos only once a week. Whether I can get Quick Share to work, via either of the two methods described above, varies from week to week. This morning, before posting here, I experimented a little. When I first tried to transfer a photo, QS worked the way it’s supposed to. An hour later, it worked, but only by employing the extra step described above. Still later it didn’t work at all. And it’s now working correctly again.
So the bottom line is that I’d like to do two things: 1) get rid of that link to the desktop; and 2) get the connection to the laptop always to appear when I use Quick Share. I’d appreciate any and all suggestions on how to do this.
Thanks.
