problem with netplwiz

Hi

I installed windows 8 and used netplwiz to go directly to the desktop on login, however when upgraded to windows 8.1 this no longer works, I changed back to logon as normal rebooted and then reset netplwiz to go direct to the desktop, still doesn’t work though.

Any thoughts please

With Windows 8.1, you can just configure it to go to the desktop on login:

Then Netplwiz has done its job. It only controls bypassing the login window.

What third party shell did you use to boot to the desktop with in Windows 8? Try uninstalling it. Reboot and retry the procedure Rui gave you.
