I want to take a database of records and export it to some type of professional pre-press application like Pagemaker or Quark. Word has proven itself incapable of disciplined formatting for professional printing, at least as far as our operators go.
How ‘tight’ is MS Publisher in regards to printing specifications? Color is not the issue but leading and kerning options for the user are crucial in this second process.

Using the Format menu, you’ll have the Line Spacing and Character Spacing choices. You will have to try them to see if they meet your needs.
