We have an issue that we haven’t been able to lick yet. One of our remote stores is having a problem where their printer connected to a Windows 2000 server is randomly printing pages with characters on them (They look like shapes/symbols). Usually, one page or two and this happens periodically during the day without any user intervention.

I’ve seen this problem before but I can’t remember the cause of the problem. Can anyone help me out?

    Thanks.

Looks like a print job got blasted.

Go to Control Panel, select Printers and Faxes, then select the problem printer.
Remove ALL print jobs, Menu, Printer, Cancel All Documents, let the files be clear out. Close this window.. Now turn OFF the printer, this should clear the built in buffer. turn on printer, and try a VERY short one page 1 or 2 lines of text print.

This can be a problem with a dodgy connection, so suggest you check the printer cable/plugs/sockets, and/or substitute a new one for the current.
